To execute the project, Dan Robson it mixed your adventure with a scientific research, together with the President of SBE, Scala " José Antonio Basso Scaleante ", the data of the human permanence inside of the cavernous atmosphere they went of great usefulness to the Biologists, where samples of mushrooms were collected. Inside of the cave 10 equipments were installed (Loger) to measure the humidity and the temperature of whole the atmosphere, together with Dan an apparel that registered the hour that woke up existed, slept, meals and also your physiologic needs.

The house of Dan, in the sub-soil of a mountain, for long
61 days " Nights ".

Objectives of the project:
1) the permanence for 61 days, in a cave

2) the Psychological study,
accompanied by the Licentiate in Clinical Psychology Raimundo Fausto Lopes, to research all the psychological transformations that will affect the behavior of the personality.

3) the scientific study about the alterations
in the human body during the total absence of light and your effects dermatológicos and lung.

4) studies of equipments resistance tests and aplicabilidade
of equipments sporting, the used equipments will be studied your application in several situations about several conditions, aiming at the technological improvement.

5) I study of the biodiversity of the place,
you be and insects that possibly survive without the solar light and your alterations in the direct contact with the human being.

6) the understanding of the preservation preserved environment,
through a campaign of understanding of the preservation of the environment for the current and the next generations, using the methods of lectures, sampling and it collects of data.

7) the book 1 61 nights, approaching all the restlessness and psychological difficulties that happen during the permanence of the expeditionary in the cave.

DISSERTATION OF MASTER'S DEGREE

José Antonio Basso Scaleante

This work consisted of the analysis of several aspects of caves in calcareous rock that are significant for your preservation when explored by tourist activities. Your main objective is to offer subsidies to determine the capacity of load of a grotto through alterations in the temperature measures and relative humidity of the air, caused by the human presence, in way to determine the maximum number of people that can transit or to stay in a certain space inside a cave without provoking irreversible damages to the atmosphere.

The research was accomplished with use of equipments specifically developed for the case, with researchers' of the Center of Pesquisa Renato Acher support (CenPRA), and with patronage of the company SOLBET Microcontroladores and Robotics, both located in Campinas. The first equipment to be developed was a sensor one (ELCAS 7000) to register the number of people in a certain area of the cave, programmed to accompany the simultaneous reading of temperature and relative humidity of the air through a termohigrógrafo. The second equipment (ELCAS 6001, Tipo III) it was developed for registration of human activities, simultaneously with the registrations of the termohigrógrafo. ELCAS 7000 (people's accountant) it was used in 2 weekends (29 and 30/06/2002; 07, 08 and 09/07/2002, days of larger visitation) in three points of Santana's Cave (I " LAUGH ", " ENCOUNTER " and " FAFÁ ") together with the meters TESTOSTOR 175-2 (termohigrógrafo of the I TEST).

Besides those measurements with intervals of one in one minute, twenty four hours a day, in those 3 points, in the 2 weekends and with ELCAS 7000, the meters TESTOSTOR 175-2 alone, without ELCAS 7000, were also placed in other 7 points of the gallery of the river of Santana's Cave in the whole period of 29/06 up to 09/07/2002. Soon after, the research extended to determine the impact of Dan Robson's constant presence during your stay of 61 days in the Grotto of Alambari of Top, as part of your Projeto PETAR-61. Of August 12 to October 12, 2002, temperature and humidity they were measured by the meter TESTOSTOR 175-2, of one in one hour, while ELCAS 6001-III registered Dan Robson's activities: to wake up, to prepare meals, to lie down and to evacuate and to urinate.

In agreement with the protection law to caves, in approval phase in the National Congress, any cave destined to the exploration of the tourism should have a Plan of Handling that indicates as the environmental impact of the tourism it can be forewarned or at least minimized, and the model here described it is recommended to assist those plans.
This methodology can determine the moment and day of the year in that the acceptable limits of temperature and humidity are surpassed, establishing the maximum number of people that can stay or to transit in a certain space of the cave. Besides, the constant monitoramento with the equipments also generates important information about the need of immediate restrictive actions.
